 Mac osx 10.5.9 can’t have more than 3 afp server shared on the dock.

I have about 5 mac osx 10.5.9 clients that are having trouble adding network shortcuts as stacks or folders to their dock. as soon as I drag the 4th icon to the dock the folder vanished into thin air...

Software/Hardware used:
Hardware: mac osx leopard client and mac osx snow leopard server
