When the document is created (1st time) I need to Retrieve Rich Text field from one area into another Rich Text field, of the newly created document

Look at Help for AppendRTItem. You should be able to use that. One of the examples for AppendRTItem in Notes 6.5 help appears to be exactly what you want. <i>"This script shows you how to append one RTItem to another without a prompt to save the document."</i>
