 Lotus Notes Problem
Lotus Notes 8.5, Windows XP
I cannot send or receive external emails from my Lotus Notes 8.5 Client.

Can someone pleae help.

More information is needed…

Are you going through a Domino server?
Are you sending via a Internet based mail server?
Are you able to ping either mail servers?

First thing to check – The location document on the bottom Right of the screen says ONLINE, Office, Office Network etc etc for continuous connections – or Remote, etc for other connected services.
Island – Home – etc would mean not connected to anything.

This would be for servers issues.

Is the Route Task running….?
Does the server have internet connection?
Can you telnet via port 25 to a mail server from the Domino server?

Are the server connection documents there if using pre version 8 or the config documents Basic tab is correct.

The most important question to be asked over here is ,,
I wonder if you know whither you have an SMTP server or at least the SMTP is configured on one of your Lotus Domino servers …
