Hi,
A user on our notes system has left his user id certification expire as he was out sick for a number of months. I've deleted his old id and created a new one, and now am unable to access his old mail file, which contains many emails. Is it possible to access his old mailfile? I dont seem to be able to access it with the new id or the admin id. Please help

If you are running Version 6 of notes through the admin client you can manage the ACL of files using this you can put yourself as Manager of the file and also add the new user to the ACL
When I start nlnotes.exe i’m asked for the admin password. I put it in and still cannot open the file. I’ve also added admin to the LocalDomainServers Group and i’m still not authorized to access the database.
When i select Manage ACL’s on the file, nothing happens. It works fine on an other file. It appears that the user has deleted all groups etc on the ACL except himself. Now that used id file is deleted and a new one created in it’s stead. So the only user with access is now deleted.
The ids carry numeric uids so even if the new certificate (user id) was created with the same user information it would not be vaulid in the ACL for the orginal mail db or any other db that the user had individual rights. You need to access the ACLs on those db and delete the old name (probally the same as new)and go to address and add the new. It would also be better to have the user copy all business related mail form his old db to the new as well as to dos and future calendar events and then use the old db for reference.
