This just happened to 2 of my users with separate email messages. When they goto open the HTML message Lotus Notes freezes and the only way to get out of it is by ending the task. Our specs are Domino 5.0.6 on Windows 2000 server Notes client 5.0.11 on Windows 2000 pro

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

We had the same problem and I think it was caused by our proxy server. If we opened the same mail through an open IP we were able to get to it without a problem. There was one work around that would convert html mail to an attachment and we ran with that for a little while.

See this technote:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=convert+messages+that+contain+html+to+attachments&uid=swg21090293&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=en

We are now running R6 and it seems to no longer be a problem.

Hope this helps.
Pablo

More detail would help such as: 1. The OS on the PCs and patch levels? 2. Any firewall software on these PCs? 3. Does the same message open correctly on other PCs? 4. Is the mail database on the server or is it a local replica? 5. If local replica, does the database on the server do the same thing? 6. Only these two users? First time ever? 7. Same source for the e-mails? Different sources? My first inclination would be to look at upgrading things. Domino 5.0.3 was the latest and greatest 4+ years ago and Notes 5.0.13a (or 6.5.x) has been out for awhile. You may want to think about whether or not it is worth chasing a problem that may not exist in the newer products.
