We are upgrading from Lotus Notes Domino and Clients from 4.6 (IBM PC's) and 4.5 (MAC's) to 6.5 on a new e-mail server. According to the IBM Redbook, we need the 4.6.7 and 4.6.7a downloads applied to our 4.6 Domino before upgrading to Lotus Notes Domino 6.5. We looked on several Lotus sites, and even went to www.notes.net, but no one seems to have the actual 4.6.7 and 4.6.7a download. Can anyone tell me where I can get it?
Thanks,
BK

I have a definitive reply from an IBM Lotus specialist that deals with ND6 upgrades every day. She says:
“The current recommendation from IBM is that you need to have your clients and templates at a minimum release level of R4 (4.67 and 4.67a) in order for the upgrade to go smoothly. There are known coexistence issues with moving from lower release levels, and certain components may not upgrade correctly. The question then becomes will the upgrade still work if you are at a lower level? I’m sure it might, but the possibilities of getting support at that level may be slim.
If you do have clients that are at a lower level than 4.67 or 4.67a, you can contact support and/or go through your passport agreement to either obtain the 4.67 code or to obtain support on upgrading without it.
So, short answer to your question is… yes, you should be at 4.67/4.67a in order to move to R6.”
one thing I forgot.
You have to upgrade your mailfiles too. Otherwise you will loose a lot of information an the calendering section. Search the domino Notes R5 forum at “www.notes.net” for problems when upgrading from R4.x.
