thanks guys, it was a virus attack, i tried several popular antivirus applications, but at the end microsoft security essentials did the trick. thanks again for all the help.

Did you try the following : - Uninstall Lotus notes client then reinstall in a differnt path on your drive. - install the latest fix pack http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/fixlist.nsf/0/1cd4804160cd2ab085257742005d6332

This is happening for several users, i logged in as administrator also, but no use, for couple of user i re-installed OS then it is working, but re-installation is not possible for all users. Thanks.

Is this for one user only? and one machine?If you log in as someone with admin access to the machine does it work?
