commonjavascript for 'Notes' field validation for dialog list fails when I use the syntax:

document.forms[0].fieldname.options[document.forms[0].fieldname.selectedIndex].text 


It gives error as ToObjecterror. Any solution for this, kindly help.

    Answer to this question is still unknown. But i managed to get the solution, I used a computed field with formula as drop down field and in the validation I check this computed field instead of dropdown field in javascript validation. Still waiting for the answer why the drpdown field validation generates error in common javascript for 'Notes' ( For web it is working)
