How do you refresh an archive database that was once 1 Gig in size but now cleaned out and should be showing as only 1/3 in size?

Open the archive file Call the File Menu -> Database -> Properties In the drop down list box select "Database " In the "I" tab, click the optimize button.

In Lotus 7 and earlier, the button is “Compact”, not “Optimize”. I don’t know about R8.

It is same in R8… it is “Compact ” over there… I havent heard about “Optimize” anywhere
