Lotus Notes 8.5 – Unread mail in multiple folders view
Hi all,
I use Lotus Notes 8.5 at the office and have a lot of unread messages in various folders and subfolders next to the mail in my inbox.
In Outlook, there is this very handy view that displays all unread messages sorted per folder. As soon as a message has been read, it is 'removed' from that particular view.
Is there a way to build a similar view in Notes?
PS: I am a Notes newbie, so thanks in advance for a detailed instruction :-)
Regards, Chris

Answer Wiki:
You could always go to the All Documents view and click the button to View Unread. That would show you all of (and only) your unread mail. As you read each one, it will be marked as read in any view/folder. When you're done, click the button to View All so you can see both read and unread.

Never thought of that… great idea! Thanks!

The only thing which is still ‘missing’ is the option to sort the messages by Folder – for some reason that is the only field where ‘Sort by’ is disabled and it does not sort by folder automatically. Do you know a workaround for that maybe?

What version of the Notes Client are you running because I have seen some dorting issues in folders with 8.5.1 that were fixed with an upgrade to 8.5.2.
