When trying to forward an email in Lotus Notes, customer is getting a message that the document has been deleted.

You need to FORWARD With Attahcments.

Yes while forwarding you need to select Forward--> Forward with attachmetns
& while replying if interesyed to include ayyachments as well select Reply--> Reply with History and attachments.
