 lotus note fail to determine the file type of an attachment
Lotus Domino Objects, Lotus Notes, Lotus Notes 7.x, Lotus Notes errors
We have a strange problem regarding lotus domino come up since last 2 months. in our database (on domino 7) we have a lot of attachment (mainly word document or txt file), recently, some of these attachments suddenly fail to open. normally, when we right click it, you have the choice of view, open or save as but some of these attachments now don't have these choices. it appears to me that these problem attachments have turned into a picture file (of course the document still show it as either doc or txt file) as when we right click it, the choices are cut, copy or picture properties etc.. do you have any idea about this problem?

lotus domino and lotus notes 7.0

Actually, we used to face such a problem with some sort of attachments in lotus Notes 6.5 and this problem was solved by upgrading it to lotus notes 8.5 . So, if you still have a valid support contract with Ibm you can get Lotus Notes7.4 for free and install it .

We had also this problem. It has disappeared with Domino 7.0.2
