With regard to accessing attachments contained in deleted mail files check to see if the email(s) are still in the trash folder. If so it can be restored and the attachment accessed.

Firstly, make sure to move the emails with big sizes by either deleting them or archiving them
secondly, compact your database because there must be a withe space in your database and in order to do it do the following :

-File
-Database
-properties
- select the second tab "Info"
-click "compact "

Go to the database properties, “i” tab and click the %used button. What does that say? What percentage?

The reason I ask is because if it’s a high percentage 90%-99% then there’s not much you can do other than:

1) Dettach mail attachments locally.
2) Delete more mail (preferably mail that’s not needed).
3) Create a local archive (if you already haven’t) and archive documents.

Yep, that just means you won’t get much out a compact so all you can do at this point is delete/archive/detatch.

…or contact your Lotus/Domino administrator and ask for a quota increase. Some admins are actually amenable to such requests. If that’s not an option, ask them what archiving options are available. If they still aren’t helpful, you can create your own local archive.
