 Lotus Domino Document Manager (Domino.Doc)
The future is not looking good for those of us that manage a large number of Lotus Domino Document Manager (Dom.Doc) sites if you use the desktop enabler. Clients, like it or not are being forced to walk down the Vista path. The desktop enabler does NOT work on Vista. Couple that with Office 2007 and you have a disaster on your hands. Its bad enough that the Desktop enabler doesn't live well with the Quickr Connectors but this is just disastrous. IBM's answer.... "its not supported" and so far I don't see any sign of them intending to do so. Of course they're only too happy to suggest Quickr as a solution because it IS supported on Vista - how many of you out there actually believe that Quickr is a DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT solution?????? Right now we're in panic mode as a few of our more significant clients are currently planning Vista into their 2009 SOE releases. Can anyone suggest a way forward for Domino.Doc clients that can provide a solution as comprehensive as Domino.Doc at an equivalent price?
