After archiving the original Lotus notes maildata file(NSF file) size reduced from 2 MB to 119 KB.Means either some items got accidentally deleted from the original file or removed for the original file but exist in archived file. It depends on the archive settings done by user.
Have you checked the message that appeared on the status bar after completion of the archiving process? It clearly indicates indicating how many documents were
archived and how many documents were deleted.

You can also check the history by choosing Actions - Archive - Open Log, Then, vewing the archive log file is named archive\l_xxxxxx.nsf,
Try importing the archive file(default archive file archive\a_xxxxxx.nsf
located at Lotus/Notes/Data/Archive/a_flast.nsf
) , I guess all your mailbox items still exist there.
