lost one month messages in OE6
Dear Sir,
I am very much in need of your help. I came across a different probs. which i need your guidance to solve it.
Y/day I have formatted my laptop C drive alone( Toshiba Sat. A3) Os: Win xp ( SP2). file system is : NTFS.
I have stored my out look express email messages in D: Mail .
After the formatting the C; drive I have configured the out look express v.6( simply importing the messages and address book) .
I found a typical prob. I have not seen the messages / folders between 28/08/08 to 12/10/08). I have tried all the solutions which i know but could not retreive the messages/folders in that particular period.
My official webmail server is webmail.yesyes.
Help me to retreive the msgs that particular period which is very imp. for me.
Also please let me know whether any back-up tool for the outlook express.Please give a guidelines / DO's and Dont's in order to protect and use effectively in the future.

Restore Outlook Express Mail Folders from a Backup Copy
To import mail folders from a backup copy in Outlook Express:
* Select File | Import | Messages... from the menu in Outlook Express.
* Highlight Outlook Express 6 or Outlook Express 5 as the email program to import from.
* Click Next >.
* Make sure Import mail from an OE6 store directory or Import mail from an OE5 store directory is selected.
* Click OK.
* Use the Browse button to select the folder containing your backup copy of the Outlook Express mail store.
* Click Next >.
o If you get the message No messages can be found in this folder or another application is running that has the required files open., make sure the files you try to import are not read-only: copy the .dbx files off any read-only medium (from a CD-ROM to a folder on your Desktop, for example), highlight the .dbx files in Windows Explorer, click with the right mouse button, select Properties from the menu, make sure Read Only is not checked and click OK.
* Now either
o select All folders to import all mail or
o highlight specific mailboxes under Selected folders: to restore only the highlighted folders.
* Click Next >.
* Click Finish.
If this does not restore the lost files try overwriting your current DBX's with the backed up ones while Outlook express is closed. Outlook Express will rebuild your folder list from the DBX's
Note this will remove any new emails that have come into Outlook Express.
If this last method does not work the email messages are NOT in the DBX files. Were they moved to another folder or machine? Exported removed?
