Lost Connections

Internet, IP, DHCP, DHCP Reservation, Networking

I am having problems with some machines losing their internet connections. I do a ipconfig release and renew and everything is fine. The odd thing is after a couple of weeks, the problem goes away. Where should I start looking to find the cause of this issue?

First I would restart your Modem/Router or whatever is serving your DHCP. Then restart the machines. See if your problem is resolved. If not I would try updating the firmware on the Router. Come back and add some more network information and we can trouble shoot.

Did you try and review your DHCP server’s configuration? You may try and reduce the time of the lease and see what happens,
