Hi,

Better you take off your hard disk and connect it to some other system as a slave. You can access the data from there and can take the backup..

Further you can search more on REGEDIT to disable the administrator password.

Thanks,
Yogesh K.

Repair install your operating system. Do not format, and overwrite the windows files. You will have a new registry, so some applications will not work, but you still have all of your files.

==================
Build a boot CD like UBCD4Win (Ultimate Boot CD for Windows) and use it to access the data you need to access.

There are other password change utilities that require you to have physical access to the machine like CHNTPW

Unfortunately, you have to remember if what are the possible word combination for your password. This is because it is almost impossible to recover your data or even open your account.

    Aside from adding it as a slave, you can purchase an external HDD enclosure that will allow it to connect via USB, FireWire, or even eSATA. Otherwise you can download and burn a password recovery utility such as Ophtcrack http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ It is an open source project, thus it is free to use, the support forums are great as well, in case you have any questions. I have used it in the past and highly recommend it.

    The current version of Ophtcrack, downloadable from sourceforge, appears as an infected file by a few antivirus programs.

    Ophtcrack is detected as that because, in the wrong hands, it does exactly what bad people do, crack passwords to steal. There are many administrative tools that are detected by various programs as BAD. In the right hands, used for good, they are ok. As a network administrator, I have to keep my tools in a NO SCAN area, or the are detected and deleted.

    If you do not want to loss you data, then best way is that just put out your hard dirve and connect it to another computer as a slave drive. Now backed up your all data. After that you can format your hard drive. For more information please visit: www.iyogi.net

    Usually, we can recover Windows admin password in two traditional ways. The first is to change Screen password with another admin account, ; the second is to recover the previous password with the windows password reset disk that had been created before you forgot the password. Take Windows XP for example, 1 At the Windows XP login prompt when the password is entered incorrectly click the reset button in the login failed window. 2 Insert the password reset diskette into the computer and click Next. 3 If the correct diskette Windows XP will open a window prompting for the new password you wish to use. However, we offen ignore the important of security until we have been locked out of computer. Fortunately, there is still the last way that can unlock your computer without reinstalling - erase Windows password with Windows password reset CD, which can recover admin password for Windows 7/XP/Vista/NT/2000/2003.... Take Windows Password unlocker for example, followings are the steps to create the reset CD 1.Download Windows Password Unlocker from Password Unlocker Official site : http://www.passwordunlocker.com/products/wpu.html 2.Decompress the Windows password unlocker and note that there is an .ISO image file. Burn the image file onto an blank CD with the burner freely supported by Password Unlocker. 3.Insert the newly created CD into the locked computer and re-boot it from the CD drive. 4.After launched the CD, a window pop up with all your account names(if you have several accounts) select one of the accounts that you have forgotten its password to reset it. Just one press, this software can remove screen password instantly.

    Do you have created the password Recovery disk early? If you do, you can sign into safe mode and recover the password. If you don't have the password reset disk. you have to take use of the 3rd party utility, Windows Password Recovery 6.0 is highly recommend. It is fast and easy to use. To know more about it, please visit http://www.recoverlostpassword.com I'm sure it can help you.

    I have recently bought a second-hand computer from a store. But when it starts up, it requires me to type the administrator password, and it makes me quite disappointed! Eventually I have managed to reset the administrator password using a password reset boot CD from http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html

    Method 1 Use the built-in administrator account which you can logon without password in safe mode.It was built when you install your system and its password default as blank.Press ctrl+alt+delete twice in the welcome screen and you can see a classical logon dialog box,type administrator and press Enter.Or you can press F8 when you start/restart your computer to select start from safe mode. Method 2 Use a password reset disk If you have created ever.Of course it must be created for your current password.You can find a prompt when you input a false password in the welcome screen.Clik it and follow the guide. Method 3 If the two methods above cannot help you,you can find a recovery tool. As far as I know, there are many password tools on the network, but I have used is "Windows password rescuer professional" ,it is simple and safe that the average person will use it. It can soon reset the password in several minutes.Only four steps can help you reset the lost Windows password: Step 1: Download Windows Password Rescuer and install it to another computer. Step 2: Run it and burn it to a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive.Before this confirm that you have insert a CD/DVD or USB. Step 3: BIOS setting:Setup your own computer boot from CD or USB.Press F2 or DELETE when you start/restart your PC to get into the BIOS SETUP list.Use arrow keys to select boot manu,and use +/- key to move the CD/DVD or USB option to the first site.Then inset the CD/DVD or USB you have just created. Press F10 to save and exit. Step 4: Reset Windows password: Wait for a moment,it will display friendly operate window,and you can reset whichever password on it.You also can use Windows Password Rescuer to add a new user with administrator privilege to your Windows when you can not find target user. With this New user account you can logon your locked computer directly to copy important data from the locked computer if you want to reinstall your Windows system at last.More detailed instruction refer to this article
