Answer Wiki:
You can also look into Iron Mountain. They do offsite tape storage and automatic back ups. I would guess they do DR also. kacerc Check out www.SunGard.com Have used their services in the past. They have great facilities and very knowledgeable people. IBM also has a DR facility outside Chicago depending on the size of your iSeries that you need to recover. They also have other hardware for DR recovery and offer mirroring services. Both SunGard and IBM have very complete sites with very skilled people. I know there are some smaller hosting companies but I do not know there names and if any are in the Midwest. Lovemyi

Have also worked with Sunguard and can highly recommend them..

But, the original question was “backup and recovery options” – and did not mention “disaster recovery”

If you are not looking for DR – my absolute favorite backup and recovery software is IBM’s BRMS (Backup and Recovery Management System).

I’m using NSPI in Atlanta, GA.
It’s not exactly midwest.
But they’re about 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a Sungard hosted solution.

I’ve worked with Sungard and IBM on numerous outings and they always perform well.
But for best bang for your buck a smaller outfit will work out well.
