Archiving solution for Email; File Server; and Sharepoint, including journaling for Email and eDiscovery capabilities. Currently have 1700+ mailboxes on 4 exchange servers most over 1GB, some as high as 16GB, no storage policy in place today, running most access to outlook via Citrix. total mailbox store are approaching 1TB of storage. ~70% to 75% stale data. Using Circular logging on exchange 2000, looking to upgrade to exchange 2007 and upgrade Active Directory as well. Need to implement archiving solution first. Business is building materials distribution, 90%+ of users are non technical - need a solution that is mostly or totaly transparent to the end user.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

We went through this process two years ago. We looked at HP RISS, Symantec Evault and Quest Archive Manager. We decided on the Quest solution and are very happy with it. Symantec gets high marks from Gartner and for good reason; it was just more expensive and Quest gave us all of the above you are looking for and it was less. Archiving to date only half of our users has reduced mail store size by half. We went from 2.6TB to 1.2 TB after archiving.

I’ve seen several demos and talked to all sorts of sales reps and found EMC’s EmailXtender and C2C’s ArchiveOne email archiving tools are the best. I like the ArchiveOne solution better, but take a look at them and compare.

I would appreciate it if you told us what you’ve decided on.

We use archive manager as well and are happy how it works in our environment. It's a really good email storage disk space saver - it keeps only a single copy of all messages and attachments. And, it captures all messages to a centralized database protecting email messages in a tamper-proof store. It prevents users from modifying messages once in archive manager system. If you have any questions about this solution - feel free to ask, I have a lot of experience using it!
