Have you considered the option of online backup? The backup will happen in the background so it’s “set-it-and -forget-it”, also you will have an offsite copy of your laptop data just in case something happens to both laptops and hard drives. You will pay a monthly fee & you should have a high speed internet access.

You could just buy a Western Digital, etc. external drive at your local electronics store or on Amazon.com, etc., connect it to one system for local backup and then share it out over a network (assuming you have one) and backup your other system to it. Check out Acronis TrueImage Echo Workstation....it works beautifully for this.

A 200 GB or 500 GB external USB hard drive is not very hard to come by these days. Right now the $ to GB ratio is about $1 for 10GB of hard drive space, and it keeps getting cheaper.

Its 2 laptops ones 87 gigs the other is hubbys hes got about the same amount or a little more.
