Hi All
Here is the problem!!
My home network constis of a butch of computers beloning to the same workgroup. All of the machines talk to each other fine, with the exception one computer who will not except the credentials of the logging on user. I get the following error message
logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer
To recap:
If I try to see the share) from another machine, I get the above mentioned error. If I am on that computer and try to go to another computer in the workgroup no problem..
I beleve that this a policy settig but not sure which one???
Thanks
Jack

And, to add to the above answer. User Rights Assignments are granted to a particular “built in” security group. In this case it is the Log on from the network or something like that. I don’t remember off hand because I am Beta testing Vista and don’t have NT/2000/XP to verify. This is located on the default local security policy for local computer. In a workgroup environment you must log on with a user account that is on the local machine that you are trying to connect to. This is not the case in a domain environment. Also, there is lack of details because different versions of Windows allow different access methods.
