Logging/recording/alerting administrator access

Looking for methods or processes to track or log when adminstrator level authority account has logged in to Windows 2003 server. Without having to look through the entire security event log, but a method of tracking when the amdins access the box. Any maner of solution that may be being used. queries. reports being emialed , and emailed alert sent to specific group that indicates this admin logged in at xxxx. Thanks,

Hello,

The easiest way to accomplish what you want is to set up auditing either through a domain wide GP or local for a specific machine, and audi account logon and logon events. This will record all logon and log off activity for the box. You can then use the filtering option in Event Viewer and filter by user to view events just for the Admin in question.

I don’t know any off hand, but I’m sure there are third party managment tools out there that you could purchase which would give you more reporting or alerting options as well.
