 Folder security in Windows XP

I want to lock my folders. My system does not allow me to check the box "Make this Folder Private" Can you help me??

Is this a work computer on a domain? If so there may be a group policy affecting this option. Do you have a personal network drive provided to which you can save your files instead? We discourage saving to the local hard drive at my company. Local drives are not backed up and the data is subject to loss if the drive crashes. Personal network space is provided which is backed up.

It is better to download a 3rd party SW called Lock Folder which helps ur demand !
