 Location of Management LAN port

Which is better, a serial port on the front or back of a server/switch device for initial configuration and when the device is not working.

I prefer all ports to be in the front(except the power connection). Most of the gear I use is rack mounted, and while I can access the rear of the racks, I'd rather not have to keep moving around the rack for set-up or maintenance reasons. Good Luck! -Flame **************************

I agree. A console or serial port on the front of gear is the best option.
