Local Password Management parm on iSeries User Profile
Our organization is trying to go toward the Single-Signon utopia & are planning on bringing in the iSeries systems as well. As the 400 usually doesn't play very well w/ Active Directory-type environments, has anyone successfully implemented single-signon across different platforms & had the 400 work as well? One parm I started looking at within the User Profile is Local Password Management which is normally set to *YES. Does anyone use it set to *NO...?  Would it have any bearing w/ Single-Signon...???

AFAIK, the value ought to be *NO in a EIM/SSO environment. In major sense, that’s part of what EIM/SSO is all about. The password would be *NONE; signon is through a network or similar logon rather than directly to the system; any password is associated with the controlling logon rather than to the local system and that password is maintained elsewhere.
