Q:
Local Administrator in Remote Machine
Hi,

I am a domain adminstrator. When i log into users pc through damware, i am unable to install any files and it says, i am not a administrator. Also, i am unable to run MSCONFIG on XP machine as it says access denied.

But when i log in locally on (without Remote) i can able to do the administrator tasks.

Could anybody please help why it is happening?

I guess you are talking about DameWare (mini remote control).

You need to use administrator credentials to remotely connect to a machine with DameWare, but those credentials are used to install and/or start the remote service only. After the service is started, you connect to the computer and share the session that is already open in the remote machine (i.e. with the privileges of the previously logged user). If you need to perform administrative tasks, you will need to logoff and start a new session with an administrator account.
