Live messenger Video/web cam session receiving garbled sound
Running WIN XP, updated all drivers to include bios and realtek audio. When in a web cam live session, the person I am talking to can hear my audio very clearly, but I can not receive their audio clearly. It is always garbled. I am using a separate mike from the camera. It also appears that when I speak, I can hear myself in my pc's speakers. I don't know why that is happening either? This pc is a dell inspiron 530s Small form factor with an integrated Realtek sound card. There are six plug-in ports on the card. I've tried opening TCP & UDP ports that didn't help. I read something about setting the sound card to full duplex, but can't find anywhere to change that setting. Any ideas on how to resolve garbled incoming voice on a live messenger web cam session?

Answer Wiki:
Have you tried using QOS (QUality of Service)on the router or the PC? QOS prioritizes packets especially for voice and video! What type of router are you using? What type of internet connection do you have? How much bandwidth is available to the application? Have you tried other software with the same equipment? Download Skype and give it a shot (or at least diagnose your issue with it)
