 Linux vs Unix
IF I have linux certification and work as Linux adminstrator, do I need to know Unix part of function??? Should I just go for both linux & Unix certification to make job more demandable? I see a lot of classes offered from community college which teach Unix & Linux combined in one class, do you think they going to teach everything in both field completely?? Finally is there a big difference between Unix & Linux??

Answer Wiki:
Having the linux cert is great....I don't know if I would recommend getting a Unix cert...but I would recommend installing Solaris...or something and see how they differ. They are fundamentally the same...if you know linux then you would be able to hop on most Unix systems and be able to what you needed to do. And there is still some demand for Unix servers but what I have seen is the migration to Linux in many cases.
