why linux has no antivirus,means why virus not effect on linux,unix os? but i think that virus installed but no effect of it..! i saw on google that "download antivirus on linux"... but i dnt know wht's thah actually.... pls help me on this matter.... thnk u -Aks

Actually, there are antivirus programs for linux. If you are interested in knowing what a specific program does, then I would recommend to go to that product’s web site, or contact the vendor.

Any OS could be the target of a virus, but at the moment most viruses target Microsoft OSes.

    If a program is created to run on Windows it can't run on Linux. But, if someone manages to create a malicious program intended to run on Linux, it will affect Linux machines. So, the question would be why most viruses target Windows ?(because it's easier ?, because Windows has traditionally been known as less secure ? because many people hates Microsoft ? ;) other ?)
