Q:
Linksys WVC54GCA cannot connect up with 2Wire Router
I was using my Linksys WVC54GCA wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera, with my NetgearDG834PN ADSL Modem Wireless Router without any problem. When I upgrade my line to Singtel MIO Home, I was provided with a 2WIRE 2701HGV-E. Wireless connection for my PC/laptop have no problem. However, I am unable to connect the Linksys Wireless Camera with this 2WIRE. The error message I received is "Fail to activate wireless connection, please check your wireless network configuration again." I followed the installation guide, but it just doesn't work, at the end of the process, when the ethernet cable is deteched. The different between the NETGEAR and 2WIRE in the setting is NETGEAR uses WPA/WPA2-Personal whereas 2WIRE uses WEP(64-Bit). What is the cause for this failure? Can someone help.
Thanks

Unfortunately I see this alot.

Different brands don't like to play well together. (What about standards right?!?)

Also, WEP and WPA/WPA2-Personal are completely and inherently different.

A WEP cannot authorize a WPA/WAP2, and iut can't happen VICE versa either...different security algorithms. So if you can get them both on the same page (and I suggest the more secure WPA2) then your problem will probably go away.

Hope this helps!
