What you can do is go to www.lynksis.com and download the handbook version of the type of router you have and you will have all of your answers there.  I always had a copy on my computer when I worked the help desk and sent it to my customers.  Also be sure to CHANGE the default settings. basically it is plugin, then from IE u type the ip (example) http://192.168.1.1 and press enter and from there thats when u will start configuring it.
