Link Outlook Calendar to Excel Spreadsheet

Hello
I am new here and this is my first post.
I am wondering whether is possible to link Outlook 2003 Calendar to a spreadsheet in the same way as you would link 2 spreadsheets. For instance if a new entry is created in the Calendar the spreadsheet would be updated automatically.
So far the way I do it is I export the calendar to a spreadsheet and overwrite it every day but I thought it would be much better if there is an automated process so I can just open the spreadsheet without having to do export all the time.
