Limited capability and ability to change initial program

JD Edwards (JDE), AS/400

We limited entering system level commands on our AS400 box by assigning initial JDE programs to user profiles. If they sign off from the applications (pressing F3 key), it kick them off from the session and gives them login screen. However we left limited capability set to *NO for all of them. Can they still change their initial program or menu, I,f first of al,l they do not have access to command line, and if yes how?

If the user is LMTCPB(*NO) then they can type in a new program name on the Sign On panel. The change would only be for the current session, but typing in a program name of QCMD will get them to the command line. If this is a concern you may want to look at LMTCPB(*PARTIAL).

They can also change the menu on the Sign On panel, but the *USRRPF initial program will override that.
