 License Logging Service in Windows 2000 and 2003 Network
Would there be any ill effects if I were to disable the License Logging Service throughout the enterprise, such as end users not being able to log on, we are currently using and have cal's installed in the service currently and we would rather not use this service.

It depends on whether you want to monitor your licenses through this service, there are no ill effects on disabling this service as long as you know that your client base is covered with enough CAL's.

I found that at times it is even better not to have the licenseing up and running.

Can cause all sort of problem.

If you want to keep track of the licensing make sure you understand Microsoft licensing; and keep a document/s.
