 LAN Administrators and my IP address
If my computer selects its IP automatically, will the LAN administrator know what my IP is? P.S. I'm in China....

if the IP asing by DHCP IP will be change every time,so administrator have not any information the IP address , if the administrator is reserve IP address to ANY proper pc in the dhcp scop . for eg. i have a computer name micro1, and i am want to give the IP address 192.168.25.3 every time we are reserve this IP for this computer in dhcp scop. thanks regarding balwinderbhatia25@gmail.com Yes your LAN Administator can know the IP adddress assigned to your PC if he knows the name assigned to your system. When ever the DHCP server leases an IP to any System , it does record the DNS name and the IP address. Cheers Yasir
