JVM error 545 – way to restore the data in blackberry
Hello,

Out of my curiousity, I just want to ask if there is any way to retrive the blackberry data after updating the blackberry OS? I have encountered this error -- JVM Error 545, and the only way to solve this is by updating the OS thru Application Loader in BBDM. However all datas in the phone could no longer retrive. Is there a feature in Blackberry where I can restore the previous data/settings of the phone?

Software/Hardware used:
Blackberry Onyx, Blackberry 5.0

Answer Wiki:
I've seen various JVM errors due to a policy applied to the blackberry. Create a new test blackbbery policy to allow everything and apply this policy to this blackberry and perform some tests. As per restoration, you should be able to use BB Desktop Manager (not Device Manager) for that component.

I just had my BlackBerry Storm die on me, JVM error 545, and I see plenty of help on how to reload the OS, but none on how to retrieve data, before or after the reload. I have a ton of critical notes I was making in memo pad since my last sync that I must get off of it. Is there some hack available to do this prior to the reload?

sad to say mulox but there still no workaround as far as i know for this issue. i suggest that next time you must save a .ipd file to your computer to ensure that in case you will encounter same issue at least you have a back up copy of your blackberry. in case that you’re using a company issued phone, ask your blackberry admin to reactivate your blackberry account to your newly updated firmware unit.
