I just loaded BES on my desktop and synced my BB via USB. I was asked for my BB p/w and I entered it, however the password was changed during the install process. Is there a default p/w that BB uses or do I need to go to my sys admin?

First of all I think you are confusing terms. BES is Blackberrry Enterprise Server. I sincerely doubt you loaded the SERVER software to run on your desktop PC! If you installed the desktop sync software that is an entriely different animal, but I suspect that is what you did. Anyway, does your organization have a BES server controlling blackberry accounts? If it is a BES policy which is imposing a password on your device then yes, the BES server admin will have to help you get it reset.
