What is the error you are getting when you are trying to delete User Profile? Few Restrictions are there in Deleting the User Profile. You can have a look at the same using below link. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcl%2Fdltusrprf.htm Mention the Error you are getting, if you are not facing any of the problems mentioned in Restrictions. In Library QSYS? Check the Journal attributes of QAUDJRN. I guess, you are trying to delete a user profile which was being used by Admin Previously. Make sure you have transferred all the authorities to another alternate User profile. Pradeep.

You do not have to delete objects owned by a user to delete the user. On the DLTUSRPRF command is a parameter named OWNOBJOPT which says what to do with objects owned by the user you want to delete. The default for this is *NODLT which means do not delete any owned objjects which of course does not let you delete the profile. If you change this to *CHGOWN and enter a user name in the second half of that parameter that has the same authorities as the user you are deleting, all of the objects will be change to be owned by that user and then the user you are trying to delete will be deleted. Objects will still exist and old user is gone.

Journal AUDJRN in library QSYS not deleted. First, is the journal named "AUDJRN"? Or is it named "QAUDJRN"? Those would be two very different things. If it's QAUDJRN, it should not be owned by a user profile that is a candidate to be deleted. Change its ownership to some administrator profile that you create to be an owner. Next, the suggestion by WaltZ400 to use the OWNOBJOPT(*CHGOWN) parameter value should get you past most of these problems. Do not use a system profile such as QDFTOWN for this. Either transfer ownership to some existing profile of your company or create one to act as temporary owner until you can review the remaining objects and handle each one appropriately. Tom
