Are these DNS servers “inside” the 2003 Domain / network ?
On the Win7 box, run nslookup %DC% (where %DC% is the name of the 2003 Domain Controller).
Can the Win7 box resolve the IP address of the Domain Controller (using nslookup) ?
Can the Win7 box ping the ComputerName of the Domain Controller ?
If not able to succsessfully complete above 2 steps, then…
You may have to manually enter the IP address (of the DNS server) into the Win7 NIC’s DNS settings.
Also, on the Win7 box, add the Primary DNS suffix in manually.
Click the MORE button from the ‘Computer Name/Domain Changes screen’ , and enter the DNS suffix of the Domain.
