I am actually new to both Java and oracle technologies.I am thinking to go ahead either with Java or Oracle. I just need to know which among them is good ?
As, a beginner I am just wondering, whether Java will be good or oracle will be good in terms of job opportunities and salary as well ?
I heard that ERP technologies got a bright future and are highly paid but I am not sure about that.
Please, help me in choosing right path.
Thank you
Rahul

Thank you very much for your answer !!
I have to disagree with the above answer.
First, I don’t know what “Oracle is the dynamic SQL” means. Oracle is a company, and they develop many products (you didn’t mention any in particular) including databases, software development tools, ERP solutions, operating systems, virtualization software, etc.
So, without more details, there is no comparison between Oracle and Java (which btw is now owned by Oracle).
Assuming that you were referring to the Oracle database, then I think you should decide first what direction you want to take, and only after that, focus on the specific brands or technologies you would like to learn.
If you want to be a software developer, then Java could be a good option (but it is not the only good option), but if you want to be a database administrator Oracle could be a good option as well. Additionally, if you plan to be a software developer, you will probably need to work with Oracle databases at one time or another, and if you become an Oracle DBA you will probably need to use Java as well.
In closing, no one can guarantee you high wages just because you know some technology. Regarding this, there are many more things involved than just theoretical knowledge.
I was suggested that ERP is a good domain and I would like to know what kind of modules are available in it and also, do I need to have any back end knowledge before getting into ERP [oracle]?
Please, do let me whether ERP is a good domain or not ?
I am not sure whether full time jobs are available in ERP or not ??
I would even like to know what does an oracle developer job mean ? Is it related to ERP ?
I am really sorry, if my question is wrong being a beginner I am not much familiar with the oracle technologies.
You might want to take a look at the Oracle E-Business Suite page.
Please, do let me whether ERP is a good domain or not ?
Yes, It is (as many other fields…). Is it good for you ? who knows.
And, an Oracle developer would be someone who develops something using some Oracle tool or product. Depending on what he/she develops it could be related to ERP or not.
