Career Development
Good Evening: I've just completed a 8-year tour of duty in the US Navy and I've been trained in a wide variety of mechanical/electrical and computer related fields. I'm about to start my education at VCU college in January of 2006. I've got lots of technical experience but which field of mechanical engineering or computer related careers offers the most job security for a well educated man. Now-a-days there's not much job secutiry but it's always good to know where the demand is. Please assist. Thanks again.

Hi

I’ve been recruiting for over twenty-five years now and have notice thorughout the years that Information Security is always in high demand. Particulary the Certification & Accrediation (C&A) area which focuses on Policies and audit of InfoSec systems. I recommend getting CISSP certificate as well.

Now if you like Technology but enjoy managing people then Program Management is ideal. In this area you will want to have a PMP from PMI. This will make you more marketable.

Hope this all helps you.

best wishes

Anna
