Hello All,
I an IT professional with ten years of working experience in the finance and health care industries. Most of IT career has been working with Lotus Notes & Domino, Windows, and all Lotus relate products. Currently I find myself looking for a job and in need of writing the perfect cover letter.
Well, I have spend the last couple of weeks trying to write one, but not been able to exactly write that one letter that would stand out from the rest. I could pay $230 to someone to write a letter for me but I rather do it myself with some help..
So my question, does anyone here have a sample IT specific cover letter that I can use to help me find that job which I am currently looking for. Any help will be greatly appreciate??
Thanks

I agree with the previous post 100%…..research is your best tool next to your skills. Personality is also very important, but not at this point. One thing I would add is to shy away from fancy or coloured paper. In most places I know of, this gets resumes thrown in the bin almost immediately. Be professional and to the point. Remeber the person reading the cover letter is not likely to know what the job is about or any of the details. Let your resume cover all that. The cover letter is your chance to introduce yourself and get that all important foot in the door. Don’t be cute whatever you do.
And…..save your money.
Best of luck to you.

You can do it!!!, just let it flow and be yourself….good luck from my side too…
I agree with SJKopischke, the cover letter is key to getting your resume beyond the screener. Matching the skills/requirements they are looking for is essential in your cover letter. Keep in mind that the screener most times than not does NOT have the knowledge to truely understand what they are looking for. I have actually had great success using a table format on which one side lists their requirements and the other side lists how I meet their requirement. Good luck on your search!!
Thanks to all….I have started writng it….
Let us know how you make out.
Best of luck,
Paul
