iseries system management monitor
Hi,

I'm looking for a iseries system management monitor tool. I found one at www.tango04.com, Visual Message Center, but my question is; are there other alternatives available? These monitors can run on Windows or Linux platform, a gui would be nice.

Hi,

the Tango04 products are awesome, there are some Webex sessions recorded... but I dunno if you can get them from the www.tango04.com.

Anyway, the products can be run from the AS400 itself, or you have an option for monitoring without touching the iSeries, it's called: AGENT LESS technology, it means that you dont have an agent in the iSeries side sending information to your windows, but the windows side "asks" it through JAVA.

In the Windows side, you will store every event you want into a database (it can be Oracle, SQL Server, etc).

Regards!

ps: if you want you can send all your questions to this guy, he's very cool and he'll answer your doubts for sure! (his name is ALEX)

Rainbow Solutions,

Just came across your question, Have you looked into Management Central's Message Monitoring within iSeries Navigator. I'm using it to monitor for specific messages on our Qsysopr Message Queue on 2 i5 servers, then send me emails, but it can execute whatever you can code into a CL Program.

Hope this helps,
Bill
