 ISeries Navigator
Hi, I am a DB2 DBA coming from zSeries to iseries.

I have iSeries Navigator , when I click on "Database task"  "Map the database"nothing happens. Is there somewhere I can check for an error message or do I have to load an addon?

Regards

Wendy

In System i Navigator 6.1, I cannot find a label of “Database task” nor “Map the database”.

There are a couple ways to get into the database mapping function. Can you please clarify the nodes that you navigate through to get to where you are?

Have any maps been created yet? Perhaps the list is simply empty.

On iSereies Navigator

I go to
1) My connections
2)Databases
Choose one
3) Schemas
Hilight one in the left pane.
Bottom right pane under “database tasks”" I get “Map your database”

My Navigator is 5.4 ans OS 6.1

Please excuse my ignorance – new to AS/400

I suggest that you update Your Client Access (includes Navigator) to the same version as your Os Release.

Ah! Of course… I’ve ignored that bottom area for so many years it’s almost invisible to me.

However, it should work just like the navigation through other routes. In this case, I would first verify your Navigator service level. Depending on your PC OS, the path may be different, but the basic idea goes:

Start-> Programs-> … -> IBM iSeries Access-> iSeries Access for {Windows} Properties

Next to the version/release info, you should see a ‘Service level’. What is it?
