Answer Wiki:
Hi, Can you give us a bit more information on what sort of error you get ? If all else fails, you can always try re-installing. Do not forget to reboot, Client Access removes even more items upon reboot. So uninstall, reboot, log on. Then install and reboot again. Regards, Martin Gilbert.

Also, ensure that the PC and AS400 are on the same service pack level. This is best ensured by installing the Client Access directly from the AS400.

Although installing from the AS/400 can be the best choice initially, it is often not the best choice later. The IBM i Access Service Packs page lists service packs to be downloaded directly to PCs (or stored on and loaded from a network drive.)

For V5R3 iSeries Access, the latest, and last, service pack is shown on that page as SI30707. The Service level on the PC should show that level. Go to Start-> Programs, and look into the iSeries Access Properties function to see the service level.

Check the job log for QYPSJSVR. It may show errors messages that will help.

I had a similar problem recently. Ending and re-starting management centrel took care of the problem. (ENDTCPSVR *MGTC and STRTCPSVR *MGTC). Allow time the MGTC programs to end before re-starting.
