I want to email notification of our daily backup result. Using the SNDDST command I can successfully send email to embarqmail.com, but not to aol.com (and possibly others). I am using the entries in the QZMF journal to see which emails are successful and which ones fail. What do I need to do so all emails are accepted? My SMTP MAILROUTER attribute is set to *NO, and I would like to leave it that way if possible. Thank you

What we did was to change the MAILROUTER attribute to be the IP address of our exchange server. I know you said you did not want to change it, but I think that this is the most painless way to make it work.

What do I need to do so all emails are accepted? My SMTP MAILROUTER attribute is set to *NO, and I would like to leave it that way if possible. The best advice might be just to call your ISP and ask them what you need to do. They'll be who you work with the most. Their requirements might be much different from anybody's here. If you already have a SMTP server handling your site's e-mail, it's almost guaranteed that it'll be much easier, and possibly cheaper, just to route through it. Getting a new server appropriately configured and then getting the matching and appropriate DNS entries generated can be difficult if you're not familiar with all of it -- especially when you don't control the DNS server.
