How do I recover files and folder from a computer user's account, when the administrator accidentally deleted it? It happened when he tried renaming/deleting  their user name and account.

That may recover the user but does it recover the data, my documents, etc? If the question "Do you want to delete the files" asked when deleting a user, was not answered yes then the files are still in the computer under C:documents and settingsUSERNAME, you may have to do TOOLs,folder options, view SHOW HIDDEN FILES and SHOW SYSTEM FILES to see them.

Use Microsoft Windows XP/Vista System Restore. This is the only way out unless you want to fork out money to data recovery firm ONTrack. (hopefully, ontrack can help you.)

was this computer on a domain and were the files on the computer or a server?? if domain and server then doing a system restore is not going to fix the problem. If workgroup and all files were on local computer than the system restore should work. I have seen many a restore point get corrupted though. Good luck.
