It depends on the nic teaming software that you are using. <a href=”http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/network/r35278/broadcom%20nic%20teaming_1.1_final.doc”>Broadcom</a>, for instance, has Smart Load Balancing which does not need 802.3ad.
