Is there any way to recover my Outlook data?

Microsoft Outlook 2007
Hi everyone,

I have a problem with Outlook 2007. I am trying to import a data file that I have placed on my desktop called outlook.pst. I am getting an error message stating " C:...outlook.pst is not an Outlook data file (.pst).

The Outlook.pst is outlook file but its saying is not and outlook file. Is there anything wrong? That sounds weird. ScanPST.exe after launch, says that can't repair the file.

Please post if you have any suggestion. Thank you.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If you are getting a message that the PST is not an Outlook Data File, then it seems that your Outlook data file has damaged. Once Outlook data file gets corrupt then Outlook fails to recognize it and produces this error. You can repair your corrupted PST file using Scanpst.exe utility. It’s a free utility suggested by Microsoft Outlook.

Scanpst is probably your best hope to recover your Outook pst file. but it also cannot be run from inside Outlook.  Outlook cannot be running when you try and recover the file. The scanpst.exe is normally located in. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14 folder.

Is this file Outlook version compatible? It may not recognize an older file format.
